Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This page explains what personal data smithcj.com collects, why, who it is shared with, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

This website is run by Smith CJ / ICONIC DYS, based in Paris, France. For any question about your data, write to iconicdys@gmail.com.

Mailing list

When you join the mailing list we collect your email address and, if you choose to give them, your country, region and postal code. We use them to send you news about releases, shows and exclusive content, and to understand where fans are so we can plan shows.

We do this because you asked us to (your consent). We keep your details until you unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, reply to any of our emails or write to iconicdys@gmail.com.

Booking and contact form

When you send a booking, press or collaboration request, we receive your name, email address and message (plus the event date and place if you give them) by email, so we can answer you. They are not added to the mailing list or stored on the website, and we keep the email only as long as needed to handle your request.

Cookies and the Meta Pixel

Only if you click Accept in the cookie banner, the site loads the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. It sets cookies such as _fbp and sends Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your browser and device, and your IP address. We use it to measure our ads and reach people who may like the music. Meta's own use of this data is covered by Meta's privacy policy.

If you click Refuse, the pixel is never loaded and the site works exactly the same. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of the homepage.

These don't need your consent because the site needs them to work:

  • Your cookie choice, and whether you have already seen the newsletter pop-up, are saved in your browser so we don't ask again.
  • A login cookie, used only by the site's administrators.

Services that help run the site

We only share data with the providers that help us run the site. We never sell your data.

  • Vercel hosts the site and processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and block abuse.
  • MongoDB stores the mailing list.
  • Resend sends our emails.
  • Cloudinary delivers our images and videos.
  • YouTube (Google) plays our videos, in privacy-enhanced mode and only when you choose to play one.
  • Spotify plays our music on the site, only after you press play in the Music section. Spotify may then set its own cookies, as described in Spotify's privacy policy.
  • Meta, only if you accept cookies (see above).

Loading the site sends your IP address to Vercel and Cloudinary so they can deliver its pages, images and videos. Some of these providers are based outside the EU, mainly in the United States, and rely on safeguards recognised by the GDPR for these transfers.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, take it with you, or withdraw your consent at any time. Just write to iconicdys@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

Changes

If anything here changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
